We can think of our mental health like how we see physical health: we all have it, and we need to take care of it.

Good mental health is about having healthy thinking patterns that allow us to live a full life, where we feel connected to others, accept ourselves (warts and all), are involved in meaningful activities, and are able to ‘bounce back’ when challenges come our way.

If we go through a period of poor mental health, we might find that our patterns of thinking, feeling, or reacting can change and that coping with everyday becomes really hard. This can feel just as bad as a physical illness, or even worse.

Some people think that struggling with mental health is a sign of weakness, or that they are 'losing their mind’. Thinking this way can stop us from talking about our feelings or asking for help, which can make our situation worse. We want you to know that it takes courage to open up and seek support, in fact, mental health problems affect around one in four people in any given year.

We utilise holistic care models to help you cultivate healthier thinking patterns, empowering you to be the strong and wise "captain of your own boat." Using the sailboat & captain metaphors, think of us as your "lighthouse keeper," guiding you as you navigate the waters of life. You’re not alone in this journey; we’re here to support you.

Malika Ferry,
Principal Clinical Psychologist & Founder
| EMDR Therapist | Adult ADHD & Autism Assessments

Profile pic 08.09_edited.jpg

Malika Ferry is a Clinical Psychologist registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and a Psychology Board-Approved Supervisor, practising since 2009.

She works with adults and specialises in trauma recovery using Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) and provides comprehensive ADHD and Autism assessments for adults.

Malika accepts GP referrals under a Mental Health Treatment Plan and works primarily with adults seeking considered, compassionate and tailored care that is evidence-based therapy for trauma, anxiety, depression, neurodivergence, and complex life stressors.

Locations: Bella Vista | Newington / Sydney Olympic Park | Online

Malika is committed to social justice and is a registered provider with Victims’ Services, supporting individuals impacted by crime and trauma. She is committed to providing culturally safe care and has designed and facilitated evidence‑informed group programs specifically tailored to people from culturally diverse backgrounds, thoughtfully addressing the additional complexities of navigating multiple cultural worlds.

Trauma Therapy and EMDR

Malika has particular expertise in Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), an evidence-based therapy recommended internationally for trauma and PTSD.

EMDR helps the brain process distressing memories so they no longer trigger the same emotional or physiological responses. Many clients find that this approach allows them to move beyond experiences that have felt “stuck” for years and regain a greater sense of emotional freedom and resilience.

Malika works with adults across Australia seeking trauma-informed psychological therapy, particularly those experiencing the ongoing effects of trauma, anxiety, relationship stress, and difficult life transitions.

About Malika Ferry

Malika is passionate about helping people move beyond survival and rediscover the capacity to thrive in their lives and relationships. She works with people in a genuine and collaborative way, supporting them to better understand longstanding emotional patterns and create meaningful psychological change. Her approach places a strong emphasis on the therapeutic relationship and creating a safe, supportive space for reflection and growth.

Outside of work, she is a wife, mum of two kids, and enjoys learning, exploring new ideas and ways of being, and embracing life’s adventures — experiences that continue to deepen her appreciation for the resilience within us all and the remarkable complexity of the human experience.

Who I Work Best With

Many of the people I work with are thoughtful individuals who have been managing life’s challenges for some time but recognise that certain patterns — such as anxiety, trauma responses, relationship difficulties, or self-doubt — continue to affect their wellbeing.

They are often seeking more than short-term symptom relief. Instead, they want to better understand themselves, process difficult experiences, and develop lasting psychological resilience.

Therapy with me tends to work best for individuals who are curious about their inner world, open to reflection, and willing to actively engage in the therapeutic process both during and between sessions.
